Every room has a bass amp ready to plug into. Here’s who brings what.

Buy when booking

Please buy in advance with your booking. Some items can be bought on the day, but we can’t guarantee they’ll be in stock when you get here.

These are yours to keep. Take them home and bring them with you to every rehearsal.

Front Room

Ashdown Five 15 head + Laney cab

Ashdown Five 15 AAA Big Boy 220W head on a 600W Laney cab.

Middle Room

Fender BXR 100 combo

100W bass combo amp. Standard in the Middle Room.

Back Room

Harley Benton Block 800 head + Peavey cab

800W bass head on a Peavey cab. Standard in the Back Room.

Bass amp tips

Turn the master volume down before you plug in or unplug.
With a head and cab, check the speaker cable is connected before you switch the head on.
Go easy on the bass EQ and gain. If the amp starts to fart out or distort, turn it down. Blown speakers end the session for everyone.
Switch amps off before you leave the room.

Before you arrive

Tick as you pack.

Your bass. Tuned up if you can, it saves time. Jack cable. Bring yours, or buy a 3m cable in advance with your booking (£9.50). A spare is handy. Spare strings (rarely needed). If you want a backup, buy a set of Regular Slinky 50-105 in advance with your booking (£30.65). Tuner. Bring yours, or buy a clip-on tuner in advance with your booking (£22). Pedals and power supply, if you use them. The studio doesn’t supply these. Strap.
